About MCET

MISSION: Maryland Council for Equestrian Therapies (MCET) is a member driven, non-profit organization 501C3 status organization first formed in 1987 to provide a regional forum for the exchange of ideas, skills, information, experiences, and resources related to all aspects of Therapeutic Equine Activities. 

MCET supports and promotes Equine-Activities and Equine-Assisted Therapy in 

Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia:

Facilitation of communication among Maryland, Delaware, and DC centers

Professional development and networking opportunities

Promotion of Maryland Special Olympics and the MCET Challenge equestrian sports events

Annual exhibit at the Maryland Horse World Expo

Encouragement of new programs that utilize horses in therapy

Educational seminars

Facilitation of research and collection of data on various aspects of equine assisted activities and equine assisted therapy

Educate  the general public about the benefits of equine-assisted activities and equine-assisted therapy

Promote exemplary safety guidelines and operational standards

Since 1987, the Maryland Council for Equestrian Therapies (MCET) has been a unifying voice for therapeutic equine activities across Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. What began as a statewide forum has grown into a vital network dedicated to promoting the healing power of horses.

MCET connects professionals, programs, and the public through shared knowledge, hands-on experiences, and a commitment to excellence in equine-assisted therapy.
